How Does It Work?

Every time zone is defined by its offset from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Converting between zones means adjusting by the difference in those offsets.

Converted time = Source time + (Target UTC offset − Source UTC offset)

For example, if it's 3:00 PM in New York (UTC−5) and you want London (UTC+0):

3:00 PM + 5 hours = 8:00 PM London time

Daylight saving time changes these offsets seasonally, which is why the calculator uses the actual date — not just a static offset — to get the right answer.
