What is the Tip Calculator?
A tip calculator takes the awkwardness out of figuring out how much to leave at the end of a meal — or any service where tipping applies. It calculates the tip amount based on the bill total and your chosen tip percentage, and if you're splitting the tab with a group, it tells each person what they owe. CalciHub's version also shows the total per person including tip, so nobody's doing mental math at the table while the server waits.
How Does It Work?
The math here is about as simple as it gets. Tip amount is just a percentage of the bill. Split between people and you've got your share.
Formula: Tip = Bill × (Tip % ÷ 100) | Per Person = (Bill + Tip) ÷ People
Bill = the pre-tax or post-tax subtotal (your choice)
Tip % = your chosen tip percentage
People = number of people splitting the bill

Frequently Asked Questions
15% is considered the minimum for acceptable service in the US, 18–20% is standard for good service, and 20–25% or more is common for excellent service. At a counter or coffee shop, 10–15% is typical — though that's entirely at your discretion.
